Masks are required at this event and must be worn at all times when inside the aquatic centre (including in and around pool deck) and outside when physical distancing is unachievable. Masks can only be removed in the grandstand when eating/drinking while seated. Competing swimmers may remove their mask just prior to entering the water (e.g. when they’re walking out behind the blocks), with their mask required to be put back on as soon as practical after warming down and/or racing. The event will be stopped if masks are not being worn appropriately by attendees.
All spectators and swimmers require a pre-purchased ticket to this event, via Ticketbooth; Spectators $7 (plus fees) and competing swimmers (free). Each ticket is for a specific section, row and seat in the grandstand which must be used by attendees during the event. Any coaches who wish to sit in the grandstand must also organise a Ticketbooth ticket for this event (complimentary). There will not be any Club Manager allocations or pre-assigned club group seating.
The full grandstand will be open for this event, in line with current Qld Health guidelines, with almost 4000 seats there will be plenty available to accommodate all spectators and swimmers wishing to attend. As this is a reserved seating, ticketed event, there will no longer be separation between those in the Eastern and Western grandstands . In order to remain compliant, all attendees wishing to sit in the grandstand require a ticket to a specific section, row and seat, which will be self-obtained through Ticketbooth in the general sale for each event. Ticketed seats must be used during the event, regardless if other seats are vacant.
CHECKING IN AT THE EVENT
All attendees must check in on arrival at the event. Swimmers and spectators must produce their Ticketbooth ticket for scanning and must also check in using the Check In Qld app. Officials, coaches and staff will check in using the Check In Qld app at the check in desk located at the front entry. Those unable to check in using their device, must check in using the devices available at the main entry. Please note, the Check In Qld app is not required for unaccompanied minors under the age of 16 years.
WRISTBANDS & STAMPS
Every attendee will be given a stamp or wristband when they check in at the front entry. Spectators will be given a wristband, which will grant them entry for the entire day. While, swimmers, coaches and officials requiring pool deck access will be stamped after checking in. All attendees must show their stamp or wristband to staff stationed on the entry gates at both grandstands to gain entry.
Self-marshalling will be in place for this event. Swimmers will self marshal in the area indicated in the pool deck flow map in the final information. Swimmers will only be permitted on pool deck to self marshal a certain number of races prior to their heat.
Swimmers arriving early, will be directed to return as above. Swimmers will be able to approach the Help Desk for assistance.
To assist in this process, we recommend swimmers arrive on the day prepared with their Event number/s, Heat number/s and Lane number/s. This information is available from the self-marshalling entry list; downloadable from the event page prior to the event.
MARSHALLING REQUIREMENTS (400m, 800m & 1500m)
Events of 400m and over (400m IM, 400m Free, 800m Free and 1500m Free) require swimmers (or their Coach / Team Manager) to confirm their intention to swim. This must be completed at the Help Desk a minimum of one hour prior to the published start time of the relevant event. Failure to confirm their intention to swim will be taken as a withdrawal. Confirmed swimmers should then follow the self-marshalling procedures.
All events will be conducted as Timed Finals. Heats will be swum from fastest to slowest.
Medals will be awarded to age groups as follows:
Multi Class events are conducted as ‘Open Events’ and will be awarded medals accordingly, as determined using the Multi Class Points Score System. Medals will not be awarded in individual age groups. Para competitors swimming in events that are not designated as Multi Class must produce their exemption cards to the session Referees.
The following awards will be recognised from performances at this meet.
Warm up will commence at 7:00am each day. The competition pool may be used for warm up, until 15 minutes prior to racing commencing. The non-competition end of the indoor pool and the outdoor pool will be in use for the duration of the meet for warm up and warm down. The dive pool may not be used for warm up or warm down.
Competitors must comply with signage on pool deck regarding the use of the warm up and warm down lanes. Diving will not be permitted unless the signage indicates otherwise. Paddles are not permitted during warm up or warm down.
No person other than an authorised official or a competitor about to compete may enter the pool deck section of the complex while any session of the meet is in progress.
No person may enter the water between events except with approval by the Referee.
Starts will be ‘over the top’. Competitors will remain in their respective lanes until the next heat is started, with the exception that for Multi Class events, competitors in the final heat of the event prior to all Multi Class events, during the heats of all Multi Class events and after the final heat of all Multi Class events will be asked to clear the water.
Heats are seeded fastest to slowest. Heats may be amalgamated or reseeded at the discretion of the Technical Manager and Referee.
Protests must be submitted in writing to the Referee by a responsible team leader, together with a deposit of $100, within 30 minutes of the conclusion of the respective competition.

Due to the number of Queensland and Australian Team activities that have been cancelled due to COVID, SQ has met with the current Qld Head coaches and we all agreed there needs to be an amendment for this year’s Qld v Qld duel meet
Qld has an abundance of quality athletes, and great depth in all age groups, SQ also understands that it’s not necessarily easy to make a Qld team, so SQ has agreed for this season that the planned Duel meet becomes a Three way meet
Meaning, there will now be Three Qld Teams selected, this will allow for another 24 swimmers and 4 coaches to be included in the event
