Based on recent easing of COVID-19 restrictions we are excited to share with you some important changes to the processes in place for upcoming Swimming Queensland and Brisbane Swimming events held at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre.

As we have experienced over the last 18 months, it is likely that at some point there will be tightening of restrictions in response to any outbreaks, which we will communicate and implement accordingly. However, as it stands in the lead up to the first event of the season, please read below to understand in full what your attendance at these events will look like as we move to operating under the new COVID Safe Event Checklist.

EVENT INFORMATION

  • FREEDOM OF CHOICE FOR GRANDSTAND SEATING
  • With the full use of both grandstands now possible, there will no longer be separation between those in the Eastern and Western grandstands and there are plenty of seats for everyone. In order to remain compliant, all attendees wishing to sit in the grandstand do require a ticket to a specific section, row and seat, which will be self-obtained through Ticketbooth in the general sale for each event.

Therefore, when attending an event, you will be doing so in one of the six capacities listed, with the requirements for each summarised in the table and full details of the processes outlined below.

  • Meet Information (including Entry List, Timeline & Live Results)
  • **CHANGE** Programs - Free and Online only this season
  • Programs will only be available online this season, with no hard copy printed programs for sale at the event. The online program will be free and a link to download will be made available on this event page (by COB Thursday 8 July).

  • Competing Swimmers Information
  • Prior to the event
Competing swimmers are able to sit in the grandstand with their family members and/or club group as desired. As such, there will be no Club Managers and swimmer tickets will no longer be automatically issued prior to each event.

Instead, competing swimmers (or their parent/guardian) will need to select a seat of their choosing in either grandstand, in order to receive their ticket for entry from Ticketbooth. Competing swimmer tickets are free and the ticket must be in the name of the swimmer nominated to compete.

This process must be completed prior to your arrival at the event via Ticketbooth. Once available, the relevant event ticket link will be accessible on the event page of the website and competing swimmer tickets can be processed individually or within the same transaction as when purchasing any spectator tickets within the general sale. Ticketbooth Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, 6th July from 8:00am.

Of note, competing swimmers will need a ticket for each day they are nominated to compete, similarly to spectators needing a ticket for each day they are wishing to attend (e.g. Saturday ticket and Sunday ticket).

Further, the four-ticket per transaction limit will no longer be in place, allowing for larger groups to sit together in the grandstand and section of their choice.

    On event day
There will be a central entrance point (main entry) at the front concourse where competing swimmers must produce their ticket (either printed or on a device) to be scanned and will be given a stamp. This stamp will then allow access to the relevant grandstand and pool deck. Their ticket will designate which section, row and seat to occupy when not required on pool deck for warm up/down or racing.

There will be numerous Check In Qld QR codes around the venue and we ask that all competing swimmers use this prior to entering the grandstand. For those unable to do this on their own device, there will be devices available at the main entry where this check in process can be completed. Parents/guardians can complete this on behalf of their competing swimmers, however unaccompanied minors under the age of 16 years are not required to.

As the case was last season, pool deck is to be used for the purpose of doing, be it warming up, warming down or racing. We ask that pool deck be clear of bags and for the seat in the grandstand to be used at all other times.

  • Spectators Information
  • Prior to the event
Similar to last season, spectators wishing to attend will need to purchase their tickets in the general sale online via Ticketbooth prior to their arrival to the event. Once available, the relevant event ticket link will be accessible on the event page of the website and as mentioned, any competing swimmer tickets can be processed within this same transaction. Note, a ticket is required for each day of the event (e.g. Saturday ticket and Sunday ticket).

While there will be no limit on the number of tickets purchased in a single transaction, it is a requirement that each ticket is named appropriately to the person occupying the relevant seat of the grandstand. As such, the time limit in place for completing the transaction in Ticketbooth will be extended to allow for the details to be provided accordingly. Ticketbooth Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, 6th July from 8:00am.

    On event day
There will be a central entrance point (main entry) at the front concourse where all spectators must produce their ticket (printed or on a device) to be scanned and will be given a wristband to self-apply which will then allow access to the relevant grandstand. This ticket will designate which section, row and seat to occupy. There will be numerous Check In Qld QR codes around the venue and we ask that all spectators use this prior to entering the grandstand. For those unable to do this on their own device, there will be devices available at the main entry where this check in process can be completed.

Spectators are not allowed on pool deck, however will be granted access in order to volunteer as a timekeeper during the event. In appreciation to any spectator willing to fulfil this role, we will provide drinks and snacks while on deck*, a Macca’s voucher, as well as a refund of their spectator ticket for that day. Simply report to the Chief Timekeeper and provide your details (including email address used in the Ticketbooth purchase) for this refund to be processed following the event.

*ask the Chief Timekeeper if you would like any drinks and/or snacks while timekeeping

    Accessible Spectator Seating

Please note, there are limited accessible seats available at the venue, but all will be purchasable via Ticketbooth in the public sale (Row I, with some fixed seats and some wheelchair spaces available). No special requests or processes required to obtain an accessible seat.

  • Multi-Class Support Person Information
  • Prior to the event
In recognition of the swimmers that require additional support on pool deck, parent/guardians are asked to use this online form to submit a request. Once completed, those approved will receive a unique code, allowing them to purchase their ticket, free of charge, via the Ticketbooth link available on the event page in the general sale. Any competing swimmer tickets can be processed within this same transaction, as well as other spectators attending in the same group.
Ticketbooth Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, 6th July from 8:00am.

Please note, a ticket is required for each day of attendance (i.e. Saturday ticket, Sunday ticket).

    On event day
There will be a central entrance point (main entry) at the front concourse where all support persons must produce their ticket (printed or on a device) to be scanned and will be given a wristband to self-apply which will then allow access to the relevant grandstand. Also, names will be cross-checked and a pool deck stamp will be provided allowing access required for the purpose of supporting their swimmer. The Ticketbooth ticket will designate which section, row and seat to occupy at all other times.

There will be numerous Check In Qld QR codes around the venue and we ask that all support persons use this prior to entering the grandstand. For those unable to do this on their own device, there will be devices available at the main entry where this check in process can be completed.

  • Coaches Information
  • Prior to the event
Ticketbooth tickets are optional, only required for Coaches who wish to sit within the grandstand (of their choosing), and must email admin.qld@swimming.org.au indicating this request prior to the event. Following this, a unique code will be provided which will allow the purchase of a ticket, free of charge, via the Ticketbooth link available on the event page in the general sale. In this process, a specific section, row and seat can be selected, where you can position yourself for the event when not on pool deck. Of note, coaches will need a ticket for each day they would like to sit in the grandstand, similarly to spectators needing a ticket for each day they are wishing to attend.
Ticketbooth Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, 6th July from 8:00am.

Further, coaches who do not wish to sit in the grandstand do not require a Ticketbooth ticket. These coaches can utilise the coach viewing area on competition pool deck, outdoor pool deck, coaches’ room, as well as seats within Section 7 (Western) and 14 (Eastern), Rows A-D inclusive, which have been held from the general sale for this purpose.

    On event day
There will be a specific check in table at the central entrance point (main entry) of the front concourse where all coaches are to report on event day. All coaches will be asked to present their ASCTA coaching licence as well as their club name before receiving a pool deck stamp. Those with a ticket, must also produce this (printed or on a device) to be scanned.

Using the Check In Qld app, all coaches must check in before making their way to the grandstand entrance gates. Where relevant, the ticket will designate which section, row and seat to occupy. Those without tickets can utilise the various options outlined above.
