Each year the State Teams Championships are held at the Australian Institute of Sport, Canberra. This event is a team-based competition, in which representatives from each State go head-to-head in a variety of individual and relay events to score points for their State.
Each State Association is responsible for selecting, entering, coaching and managing their respective team. Teams may incorporate a maximum of 40 swimmers, divided into two age groups* (14/15 years and 16/17 years for males and 13/14 and 15/16 for females), with no more than 10 males and 10 females in each age group.
Since its inception in 2008, Queensland has been undefeated in this event and we are very proud of this historic statistic, and as such, to represent Queensland on this team is a huge honor. The selection criteria and process are outlined in this document.
Swimming Queensland run a number of preparation activities for State Teams Championships each year, which are detailed in our Development Program booklet.
You will be contacted directly if you are selected to attend any of these activities.
*Age is calculated as at the first day of the Championships
