All designations of swim meets, qualifying and non-qualifying, conducted by clubs (excluding club nights) must be approved.
Regional Championships and A-Grade meets are processed by the respective Regional Associations and forwarded to SQ for approval.
B-Grade (qualifying and non-qualifying), Restricted (qualifying and non-qualifying) and Junior (qualifying and non-qualifying) meets are approved by the respective Regional Associations and notified to SQ.
All newly-approved meets are added to the Swimming Queensland Happening Calendar on a progressive basis throughout the season. Clubs should regularly check the Calendar for confirmation of their swim meet approvals as they will not be individually notified of the outcome.
The process for swim meet approvals is different for the Brisbane Region.
As a result of the revamping of the competition structure in the Brisbane Region and the subsequent trialing of the new structure this season, different procedures apply for swim meet approvals. All Brisbane clubs have been informed of this directly by Swimming Queensland. These changes are not applicable to any other Region.
All clubs in the Wide Bay Region are to use the
SQ Request for Approval of Swim Meet form - Wide Bay Region (pdf)
SQ Request for Approval of Swim Meet form - Wide Bay Region (word), which has been specially modified just for this region. The differences are that there is provision for first and second date preferences, and there is also a page 2 of the form where clubs need to state the reason for requesting the meet.
All Other Regions (Central Qld, Darling Downs, Far North Qld, Gold Coast, North Qld & Wide Bay)
