Pitted against tough competition, the 17-year-old won the award ahead of golf’s Hannah Green, skateboarding’s Hayley Wilson, rugby league’s Isabelle Kelly and Basketballer Zitina Aokuso.

Pallister said it was an honour to receive the award among such influential women in the Australian sports industry.

“I’m truly honoured to win this award tonight in a full of such inspirational sports women,” she said.

“Women’s sport in Australia continues to go from strength to strength and I’m just so excited to a part of it.”

The 17-year-old swimmer has had a breakout season, winning multiple medals at both national and international events, as well as logging a new personal best and setting a new Australian Age record in the Women’s 1500m Freestyle at the 2019 Aussie World Swimming Trials.

In August, the Sunshine Coast schoolgirl was named ‘Female Swimmer of the Meet’ at the FINA World Junior Championships in Budapest, after claiming three gold medals in the 400m, 800m, and 1500m freestyle events, as well as silver in Australia’s 4x200m Freestyle relay team.

Pallister also cleaned up at the 2019 Hancock Prospecting Australian Age Championships in Adelaide, taking a clean gold sweep in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m freestyle races.

The year prior in 2018, she won four individual medals (three of them gold) in an eye-catching Junior Pan Pacs in Fiji.
