School Swimming

School Swimming

Many schools in Queensland will run swimming carnivals and meets as part of their school sport program. These are organised by an individual school or their governing body. Whilst school swimming is separate from club swimming, there are some school swimming meets which are approved by Swimming Queensland (SQ). This means results from these meets can be uploaded into an individual's Swim Central results and used to qualify for future meets and development opportunities.

  • Information for Parents and Swimmers
  • For school swimming meet results to be included in Swim Central results, they must meet certain criteria and be considered an approved meet by Swimming Queensland.

    Approved Meets

Once the meet organiser has completed the approval process and received confirmation from Swimming Queensland, the meet will appear on our Currently Approved School Meets list below.

Permission to publish results in Swim Central

For your results from an approved school meet to be included in Swim Central results, you must have completed the relevant Department of Education's consent form. Your school will provide this to you and you'll need to return it to them.

    Results appearing in Swim Central

After the meet, the organiser will provide Swimming Queensland with a copy of the results for publication and inclusion in Swim Central.

Once published, these results can then be used to enter meets and may be used as qualifying times for development programs. Please allow at least a week for results to appear in Swim Central.

    Records at School Meets

It is possible to achieve Queensland and National records at an approved school meet. Please note, you will need to submit a record application form to Swimming Australia or Swimming Queensland should you believe that you have broken a record at a school meet.

    Privacy and Accuracy Disclaimer

Swimming Queensland takes no responsibility for the publication of results from children who have not completed the relevant Department of Education's consent form. It is the sole responsibility of the meet organiser to ensure that the file submitted to Swimming Queensland is correct and any children who have not had parental consent given for their results to be published are removed from the file prior to sending it to Swimming Queensland. If a result is published in Swim Central that you believe should not be included, please contact us.

Swimming Queensland takes no responsibility for the incorrect publication of results from school meets. It is the sole responsibility of the meet organiser to ensure that all names and DOB’s are correct in the file submitted to Swimming Queensland. If a result from a school meet is not showing correctly, or missing from your Swim Central profile, please contact the meet organiser. They will need to provide an updated Team Manager (TM) file to Swimming Queensland to rectify the error.
