All the amazing volunteers you can see out on pool deck and in the control room, during a swim meet, are called Technical Officials or TO’s for short. There are various roles that Technical Officials may fill at a swim meet.

Anyone can become a Technical Official – you don’t need any special skills to begin your technical official journey. New technical officials are always welcome! If you’re interested, head over to our Become a Technical Official page.
The first step to becoming a Technical Official is to complete the General Principles of Officiating module.
Once you’ve completed this module, you can go on to complete any of the different 16 technical official training modules and practical assessments as required, depending on your chosen interest.
