Queensland’s St Peters Western connection of Elijah Winnington, Shayna Jack, Brianna Throssell and Abbey Harkin and USC Spartans Alexandria Perkins gave Australia a silver lining in a flying start to the World Championships in Doha.
Winnington was out-touched by a fingernail in the 400m freestyle while the girls fought all the way in the women’s 4x100m freestyle final before the Netherlands edged in the final stages.
