Dean Boxall and St Peters Western continue to do the impossible, with the powerhouse club producing 10 Paris Olympic Team Members at the recent Australian Swimming Trials.
The qualifiers include current Olympic Champions Ariarne Titmus and Mollie O’Callaghan who went 1, 2 in the 200m Freestyle respectively, both under World Record time (1:52.23, 1:52.48). And the St Peters Western dominance didn’t stop there with squad members Brianna Throssell (4th), Shayna Jack (5th) and Jamie Perkins (6th) filling out the roster for the 4x200m Freestyle Relay.
O’Callaghan also became the fourth swimmer in history to break 58 seconds in the 100m backstroke (57.88).
St Peters Western secured a slew of additional individual spots. Including 2022 World Champion Elijah Winnington who qualified for his second Olympic Games in the 400m & 800m Freestyle (3:43.26, 7:44.90), Shayna Jack who qualified for individual swims in the 50m & 100m Freestyle (23.99, 52.72) and on debut Jaclyn Barclay in the 200m Backstroke (2:07.88) and Jenna Forrester in the 400m Individual Medley (4:38.16).
St Peters Western will be further showcased in Paris, with 8 of the 10 athletes tagged to be relay team members.
