Para World Championships: Queenslanders Make Golden Splash In Manchester

It’s been a golden start for the Dolphins on the first three days of the Para Swimming World Championships in Manchester with two of Queensland’s 2020 Tokyo stars Rowan Crothersand Benjamin Hance leading the way.

 

Crothers (Yeronga Park; Kate Sparkes) and Tom Gallagher (Somerset; Ashley Callus) scored a stunning 1-2 finish in the 50m freestyle for S10s while Hance gave his opponents no chance in the 100m backstroke S14s.

 

There was also:

 

Silver for Katja Dedekind (Yeronga Park; Kate Sparkes) in the women’s 100m freestyle (S13) and bronze medals for;

 

Jake Michel (Carina; Brian Glass) in the M 100m backstroke (SB14);

 

Jack Ireland (UQ; David Heyden) in the 200m freestyle (S143);

 

Paige Leonhardt (USC Spartans; Harley Connolly) in the W 100m breaststroke (SB14);

 

Emily Beecroft (USC Spartans; Harley Connolly) in the W 100m butterfly (S9) and;

 

Keira Stephens (Southport; Sean Eels) in the W 100m breaststroke (SB9).
