    Online Form - Confirming Intention to Swim 400m, 800m & 1500m Events

    Events of 400m and over require swimmers (or their Coach / Team Manager) to confirm their intention to swim.  This may be completed at the Help Desk (located on pool deck near the dive pool) or via online form, a minimum of one hour prior to the published start time of the event during the Heats session (not your heat). Failure to confirm their intention to swim will be taken as a withdrawal. Confirmed swimmers must then follow the self-marshalling procedures outlined in the program.

  • Project H2grOw
  • Project H2grOw is back!

    Swimming Australia invites new and continuing athletes to track growth, maturation, and swimming performance with Project H2grOw. Project H2grOw will be operating during the Hancock Prospecting Queensland Championships. The team will be situated on the front concourse as you enter the grandstand area. Please keep an eye out for the Project H2grOw banner.

    Operating dates: Saturday 9th December to Tuesday 12th December

    Operating times: Heats sessions from 8:30 am. Finals sessions (excl. Tuesday 12th December).

    Eligibility:

    • Any athletes 18 years and under who have previously been measured by Project H2grOw regardless of how long ago your measurement was
    • New athletes – boys aged 10-16 years; girls aged 10-15 years

    Registration:

    • No documentation is required for continuing participants previously measured
    • New parents and participants will need to read and sign the information and consent forms which can be obtained from Project H2grOw researchers on the day, or by requesting the forms at h2grow@swimming.org.au

    Cost: There is no financial cost associated with participation in this project

    Swimmers are requested to attend for height, weight and sitting height measurements. Measurements take less than 5 minutes to complete. Parents are invited to attend with their children, but this is not mandatory as long as the signed consent forms have been supplied.

    From being involved, you will receive a Project H2grOw summary report identifying:

    •          Your maturational status and stage;

    •          Your growth tracking history, for those who have participated in previous years and;

    •         A H2grOw rank score - which shows how your swim performances scaled based on your relative age and maturity status.

    Those who do participate will be invited to an online information session - for swimmers and parents - after the swim event. The online session will explain the benefit of information presented in the summary report and how it can be used by coaches, parents, and athletes.

    If you would like to know more, please go to the Project H2grOw website or send us an email at h2grow@swimming.org.au.
