What Is It?

What Is It Junior Dolphins

Swimming Queensland (SQ) is committed to a swimming-for-all philosophy by creating opportunities for all Queenslanders to participate in our sport. Whether you choose to swim for fun and enjoyment, health and fitness or aspire to be a World Champion we aim to provide you the opportunity to get involved in the swimming community and develop your aquatic skills.

Our vision for swimming in Queensland is that it is known as an inclusive sport for all who desire to swim; regardless of skill, ability, location and cultural background. To help us bring this vision to life, we deliver a variety of programs and activities that help us reach swimmers from the city to some of the most remote communities in Queensland.

  • Swimmers with Disability
  • Swimming Queensland is committed to providing opportunities for members of our community of all abilities. Whether you’re just beginning your journey in swimming, or are aiming to compete at international events, Swimming Queensland aims to create a positive and welcoming environment that meet the needs of people with disability.

    Aquatic Participation Fun Days

    Aquatic Participation Fun Days provide a free opportunity for adults and children with a disability to experience the enjoyment that water activities provide, gaining confidence in their aquatic skills in a relaxed and safe environment.

    Aquatic Participation Fun Days teach participants:

    • Water safety through land and water activities including game skills and novelty races;
    • Aquatic skills through targeted activities that focus on balance, breathing, buoyancy, submersion and mobility.

    Multi Class swimming at our Clubs

    If you’re interested in joining a club, we suggest checking out our Join A Club page that guides you through the steps of how to find and engage with a club in your local area. Make sure you take the opportunity to visit the club, talk to their coach and committee to ensure that it suits your individual needs.

  • Multi-Cultural and Indigenous Swimming
  • Swimming Queensland is dedicated to providing swimming opportunities for individuals in Queensland from Indigenous or Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

    Through free participation clinics we are able to share the experience of swimming with some of our more remote and Indigenous communities in Queensland. The program focuses on delivering clinics and participation activities that promote healthier, happier and safer communities particularly when it comes to being in and around the water.

    Make a Splash Days
