December 14th(Relay Day) will be a day for swimmers and their families to show their show their support for the amazing efforts of the Ronald McDonald House Charity® who are the official charity of Swimming Queensland. Ronald McDonald himself will be making an appearance and volunteers from the RMHC will be attending and collecting your donations on this day.
McDonald’s prides itself in playing an active role in supporting activities that improve the health and wellbeing of Australian children and celebrate kids having a great time playing sport! This is why they have been a proud sponsor of Swimming Queensland since 2008; from grassroots programs all the way through to our next generation of elite swimmers.
As a way of showing our gratitude to this relationship and the importance of this charity, Swimming Queensland would like to offer an opportunity to provide non-perishable item donations and cash donations on the weekend of December 14th & 15th that will be provided to help families through the very busy time of Christmas and New Year.
In addition, for those buying online tickets to the event there is an option when purchasing online to make an additional cash donation as part of your order.
Your donations will also help to show your appreciation for the role that the McDonald’s/Swimming Queensland partnership has played on your journey in the sport to this point and helping to make the McDonald’s Queensland Championships possible.
If you're keen to bring a donation on Relay Day, check out the RHMC Wish List here.
On the Saturday and Sunday of this year's McDonald's Queensland Championships, an international cycling event is being held at the velodrome located in the Sleeman Centre complex.
As this will impact on parking at the venue, the Centre’s management has engaged traffic control personnel to assist patrons, including directing them where to park.
We strongly advise all people attending the swimming to allow extra time and, if possible, to consider car pooling. A dedicated 'Kiss & Ride' drop-off area will be available in Car Park 3 for vehicles not requiring parking.

Throughout the first two days of the 2019 McDonald’s Queensland State Championships, Swimming Queensland, in conjunction with The University of Sydney, will be continuing their research in the Project H2grOw initiative. This research involves tracking growth and maturation in developing swimmers and establishing solutions that account for that growth.
H2grOw Testers will be situated in the Old Sleeman Gym, and are inviting any athlete aged 12-15 years to take part in the research. Also invited, are any athletes (regardless of their current age), that have previously taken part in the H2grOw project, for retesting. This will be of benefit to give the athletes further insight into their H2grOw development.
